About this Event
Join the City of Frederick on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, from 5:00–7:00 p.m., in celebrating the Month of the Young Child with an evening dedicated to creativity, imagination, and the artistic voices of Frederick’s youth and the organizations that support them.
We invite you to kick off the evening with the Art in City Hall Program Opening Reception, Experience Transmutational Resonance: Emerging Teen Artistic Voices, a powerful exhibition showcasing the talent and expression of Frederick’s pre-teens and teens. The exhibition features artwork by students from FCPS’ Academy of Fine Arts at Gov. Thomas Johnson High School and Leila Jones.
Then, join us in the Boardroom for an interactive and inspiring celebration highlighting the importance of nurturing creativity in early childhood and adolescence. Guests will enjoy live performances, interactive art experiences, and the opportunity to continue exploring the gallery exhibition, all while celebrating the next generation of Frederick’s creative leaders.
Featured Artists Include:
- Katelynn Culpon – Performing “Hometown Glory”
- Boys & Girls Club Youth Poets – Presenting Maya Angelou’s “Still I Rise” with a special twist
- Jamie Gerhold – Leading an audience interactive art experience focused on mental health awareness
Come celebrate the Month of the Young Child with us as we honor the brilliance, resilience, and imagination of Frederick’s youth and the community that supports their growth.
