Join the authors of Preserving History: A Field Guide to Art and Architecture in Monterey for a special evening exploring Monterey’s rich artistic and architectural heritage. The talk will highlight how art and historic buildings together tell the story of the region’s cultural evolution, from Native peoples through the Spanish, Mexican, and American eras. Reception and book signing to follow. Free and open to the public. Wine and cheese reception to follow with book signing. Special thanks to Melissa Burdick and the Marcia F. DeVoe Fund. A related exhibition, “A Visual History of Art and Architecture in Monterey,” will be on view at the Monterey Museum of Art May 7–August 30, 2026.
