The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation is pleased to announce that the Montauk State Parks Complex will host night owl hikes for the 2025-2026 winter! A State Park naturalist will guide visitors through the woods to listen for owls and other night life. The location of each hike may vary.
The hike will meet at the Promised Land parking lot, which is at the intersection of Cranberry Hole Road and Napeague Meadow Road. Please arrive 10 minutes before the start of the program. Wear clothing appropriate for the weather and comfortable shoes for hiking. Be prepared to hike without lights. The hike is approximately 1.8 miles long. The hike is for ages 12 and up. NO dogs are allowed. Space is limited and RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED!
If there are any questions regarding the hike, please call Hither Hills State Park at 631-668-2554. Registration opens one week prior to the event. Future events will be posted on Eventbrite two weeks prior to their start date.
