WORKSHOP 1pm (Brick House Community Resource Center) - Renegade Klezmer with Jason Ditzian - In this two-hour workshop for musicians of all levels, Jason will discuss his approach to klezmer and “Jewish music” in general. We’ll learn a few songs together and explore different approaches to the music, with an emphasis on improvisation, self-expression, and spirituality. 5pm - Minqi Wang - Minqi Wang is a pipa virtuoso, indie artist, and music producer based in Massachusetts. Her work blends traditional Chinese instrumentation with electronic soundscapes, bringing the ancient pipa into concert halls, contemporary stages, and multimedia environments. www.minqimusic.com
6pm - Guachinangos (NYC) - Cumbia with a Mexican Jarocho flavor, Guachinangos features members from diverse cultural backgrounds. The band fuses Mexican son jarocho with Colombian cumbia and other Latin American rhythms. Their exciting instrumentation and electrifying stage energy invites anybody to enjoy, sing and move to the rhythm of the music. www.guachinangos.com
