About this Event
In a relaxed environment, Katie will guide you through the making process to help you create a personalised leather glasses or sunglasses case. A former fashion designer and current lecturer at Leeds Arts University, Katie will share her passion and experience of design and leather craft.
You will select from a choice of tan or nude leather and pick from a range of closures and thread colours to add classic or contrast detailing. During the time you will learn traditional skills including hand saddle stitch, burnishing edges and the benefits of working with these premium vegetable tanned leathers. You’ll also have the opportunity to personalise your case using a hot foil machine to add monogrammed initials in a range of foil colours or subtle debossed letters.
You will leave with a beautiful piece that will last for years to come, and a dust bag will add the finishing touch making it the perfect gift to yourself or a loved one. All materials and aprons are provided.
The workshop is suitable for those who have never picked up a leather crafting tool to the more experienced makers who love to learn new skills.
