About this Event
Come out to help plant native trees and shrubs on Mono Centre Creek! Planting trees will help enhance fish and wildlife habitat, shade the stream, reduce erosion, and capture carbon!
What to Expect
· An orientation and tree planting tutorial
· This event will take place rain or shine but will be rescheduled if there is extreme weather.
· Washroom facilities will be available on site
Remember to Bring
· Please dress for the weather! Consider bringing a rain jacket, hat, etc. depending on weather conditions
· Gardening/work gloves (Extra gloves available)
· Closed toed shoes/rubber boots (Spring is muddy!)
· Sunscreen and bug spray
· Extra water and snacks/lunch
Be Tick Aware
· Wear light-coloured clothing to make ticks easier to spot.
· Wear long-sleeve shirts, pants, and closed-toe footwear. Tuck your shirt into your pants and tuck your pants into your socks. This can help prevent ticks from crawling onto your skin where they can feed.
· Permethrin-treated clothing may provide protection against ticks and mosquitoes.
