Taidetyöpajassa tutustutaan luonnonväreihin Perun Andien värjäystraditioiden inspiroimana. Käytämme luonnosta saatavia materiaaleja ja värjäämme pieniä puuvillakankaita ja villapalloja. Mukana on esitys Andien värjäysperinteistä ja perinteisistä tekstiileistä. Työn kuivumisen aikana pidetään tauko. Lopuksi jokainen osallistuja tekee pienen köynnöksen värjäämistään osista ja saa sen mukaansa kotiin.
Taidepaja on maksuton ja järjestetään Oulun taidemuseolla 26.7. klo 13-16. Tapahtuma sopii 8 vuotta täyttäneille. Lapset voivat osallistua aikuisen kanssa. Mukaan mahtuu 15 henkilöä, osallistujat otetaan mukaan ilmoittautumisjärjestyksessä. Ilmoittautuminen tapahtuu museolla taidepajapäivänä.
Taidepajan vetää Alison Chipa, perulainen arkkitehti, joka jakaa perinteisiä tekniikoita ja luonnonmateriaaleihin perustuvia käytäntöjä. Ne pohjautuvat kulttuuriseen tietoon, jota hän on kartuttanut matkustaessaan ja opiskellessaan eri puolilla Perua.

Monikulttuurikalenteri2026: Colors of the Earth - Natural Pigments from Nature

Experience the beauty of natural color in this hands-on workshop inspired by Andean dye traditions from Peru. Using materials from nature, participants dye small cotton pieces and natural wool balls. A presentation on Andean dyeing and traditional Peruvian textiles is included, with a scheduled break while the dyed materials dry. Finally, each participant creates a small guirnalda to take home an artwork made from the colors of the earth.
The art workshop is free and will be held at the Oulu art museum 26.7. from 1 PM to 4 PM. All materials are provided. The event is suitable for participants ages 8 and older. Children should attend with an adult. Participant limit is 15 people. Registration takes place at the art museum on the workshop day. Participants will be accepted in the order of registration.
The art workshop is held by Alison Chipa, a Peruvian architect who shares traditional techniques and natural-material practices inspired by the cultural knowledge she gathered while traveling and studying throughout Peru.
