Monikulttuurikalenteri2026: Afrobeat, soivat rytmit, vibat ja herkut

Afrikkalaisista perinteistä ja käsitöistä inspiroitunut taidetyöpaja tarjoaa tarinointia, musiikkia, liikettä ja herkkuja. Aikaisempaa kokemusta ei vaadita, tule sellaisena kuin olet!
Taidetyöpaja on ilmainen ja se järjestetään Satula-tilassa Oulun taidemuseolla 19.4. klo 13–16. Otamme osallistujia sisään kolmessa erässä: klo 13, 14 ja 15. Valitse sinulle sopiva aika ja tule fiilistelemään afrorytmejä ja tutustumaan Afrikan kulttuureihin. Yksi taidepaja kestää noin tunnin. Ilmoittautuminen tapahtuu museolla taidepajapäivänä klo 12.30 alkaen. Otamme osallistujat mukaan ilmoittautumisjärjestyksessä ja paikkoja on rajatusti. Muistathan, että alle 12-vuotiaat lapset osallistuvat aikuisen seurassa.
Dee-C on oululainen DJ, jolla on yli kahdenkymmenen vuoden kokemus musiikin luomisesta ja sen tuotannosta. Hän syntyi Gambiassa, asui lähes vuosikymmenen Berliinissä, minkä jälkeen hän valitsi Oulun kodikseen, johtaen Mind Over Money Entertainment-musiikkituotantoyhtiötä. DJ- työskentelyn ohella Dee-C on intohimoinen afrikkalaisen kulttuurin puolestapuhuja sekä yksi Africans in Oulu Festivaalin takana olevista järjestäjistä. Hän tutkii menneisyyden, nykyisyyden ja unelmien perintöä tuomalla pohjoismaiseen musiikkiin eloisia afrobeat-rytmejä.

Monikulttuurikalenteri2026: Afrobeat, Food for the Music & the Soul
The art workshop includes storytelling, music, movement & delicious snacks inspired by African traditions and handicrafts. No previous experience is required. Registration takes place at the museum on the workshop day. Participants will be accepted in the order of registration. The number of spots is limited. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
The art workshop is free, and it will be held at the Satula space of Oulu art museum 19.4.2026 klo 13-16.
Inspired by African traditions and crafts, this art workshop features storytelling, music, movement, and treats. No prior experience is required—just come as you are!
The art workshop is free and will be held in the Satula space at the Oulu Art Museum on April 19 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. We’ll be letting participants in in three groups: at 1:00 PM, 2:00 PM, and 3:00 PM. Pick a time that works for you and come get into the groove of Afro rhythms and explore African cultures. Each art workshop lasts about an hour. Registration takes place at the museum on the day of the workshop starting at 12:30 PM. We’ll accept participants on a first-come, first-served basis, and space is limited. Please note that children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
Dee-C is an Oulu-based DJ with over 20 years of experience in creating and producing music. He was born in Gambia and has lived almost a decade in Berlin, after which he chose Oulu as his home, running a music production company called Mind Over Money Entertainment. Alongside working as a DJ, Dee-C is a passionate advocate for African culture and a one of the persons behind Africans in Oulu Festival. He explores the legacies of past, present and dreams through inserting most vibrant afrobeats into the Nordic soundscape.
