The City of Hot Springs Parks and Trails Department and the Diamond Lakes Arkansas Master Naturalists (DLAMN) are encouraging the community to be outdoors by hosting a free Monarch Butterfly Mania event at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 18 at the Monarch Butterfly Garden, located within the Valley Street Creekwalk Trail of the Hot Springs Creek Greenway, at the corner of Valley and Runyon streets.This event will include monarch tagging, information tables, kid-friendly activities, and a presentation on the Monarch Butterfly Garden and its pollinators. Program and release will be at 10:30 a.m. Registration is not necessary.
In case of inclement weather, the event will be cancelled.
The Monarch Butterfly Garden was constructed through the efforts and contributions of DLAMN and City of Hot Springs Parks & Trails Landscaping. Both continue to maintain the area and use the location for events such as their annual Monarch Butterfly Mania presentations.
