About this Event
Learn to draw the human figure, where the principles of form and proportion as well as gesture and movement are applied, with the aid of a live nude model.
Learn the fundamentals of capturing the human anatomy with traditional techniques.
In this class, you'll learn how to:
- Develop better observational skills
- Hand-eye coordination
- Draw short and long poses
- Learn human proportions through observation of a live model
- Mark making with charcoal
- Work with lines, shape, and value
- Draw in a loose and expressive way
Students will create several sketches of each week's live model. Gain experience, confidence, and knowledge with how to draw from life and capture the human body (each week's model will be nude).
Great for beginning and intermediate level artists.
Supply List:
- Strathmore Newsprint Smooth paper pad
- Compressed charcoal sticks (soft)
- Vine charcoal (soft) - various sizes
- Charcoal pencils - hard & soft
- Graphite pencils - hard & soft
- Kneaded eraser
- Drawing Board with Clips (large enough to fit your newsprint pad plus extra clip to keep the paper stable)
- one-time fee of $65 per student to cover model fees for all 5 weeks, payable to Art on 30th on week 1
