About Broadway Unplugged:
Broadway Unplugged is an intimate, stripped-down concert series presented by celebrity vocal coach Jeremiah Abiah. Showcasing both Broadway’s brightest stars and the rising talents on their way to the stage, this unique experience strips away elaborate sets and amplified sound to reveal the raw, acoustic power of storytelling through music. Featuring reimagined show tunes and behind-the-scenes insights from the artists themselves, Broadway Unplugged is a night of authenticity, passion, and Broadway magic—unplugged.
About the artists:
Raena White is a compelling Actress and Singer whose powerful voice and personality leaves her audiences craving more. A proud native of Detroit, MI, Raena made her Broadway debut in the internationally acclaimed musical, CHICAGO, as the iconic "Matron Mama Morton”. Raena is a member of the Original Broadway Cast of the Grammy and Tony award winning musical “Some Like it Hot.” She also enjoyed touring North America with Disney’s “The Lion King”. One of her favorite regional productions was Dreamgirls at the Marriott Theatre, where she was nominated for Chicago’s prestigious Jeff Award for her portrayal of Effie White. Raena has performed in numerous NYC concerts at the historic Birdland, 54 Below, Sony Hall, The Town Hall and Le Poisson Rouge. Moreover, she has toured Europe, mesmerizing international audiences in various performances. One of her proudest moments was her sold out debut concert, at the famed Joe’s Pub in NYC. Alumna of The University of Michigan, Raena is also a loving Wife and Mom to 3 energetic boys. Between her passion, captivating demeanor, and tenacity, Raena continuously raises the bar with every remarkable performance.
