Moms Night in: A Holistic Healing Space to Discuss Black Motherhood
Join Sharice Burnett, LCSW, ZaDora Williams, LCSW, and Ruth Tessema, LPC, for an engaging presentation centered on Black Maternal Health and the critical disparities that Black women encounter. This interactive session offers a unique opportunity for you to actively participate in discussions surrounding maternal health, gain insights into relevant statistics, health disparities, biases, and the experiences of Black mothers.
During this transformative experience, we aim to create a nurturing environment where you can deepen your understanding of the Black Maternal Health Crisis and take meaningful steps towards enhancing your well-being as Black mothers. Together, let's explore holistic healing practices that can empower you to reclaim your health and advocate for change.
Black Maternal Health Week is a week dedicated to educating, empowering, and advocating for Black mothers to improve maternal health outcome. Our advocacy centers empowering mothers to reclaim their right to heal holistically and with community. We cultivate a warm and inviting safe space that fosters sisterhood and a village of support.

Meet your facilitators
ZaDora Williams, LCSW a.k.a Sunflower Z,
ZaDora is a proud Black and Queer licensed clinical and holistic social worker, mental health educator, consultant, energy healer, and spiritual practitioner. ZaDora is the founder of Sankofa Center for Healing and Sunflower Z's Healing Garden. Her mission is to healp individuals (primarily women and childen) within the Black and Brown communities Heal mentally and spiritually grow and thrive. She offers organizational healing, anti-bias/Blackness, Black women empowerment workshops and trainings for community organizations, businesses, school districts, and medical cliniics and institutions. She facilitates Liberated Parenting, a program offering culturally specififc parenting workshops for Black moms and parents.
Sharice Burnett, LCSW
Sharice is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and has worked in the Social Work field for over ten years. Her career includes working with diverse populations in various capacities that have all been focused on social justice work and supporting and advocating for the most vulnerable populations. Currently, Sharice works in private practice where she provides therapy services to Black and Brown children, teens, adults, and families. In addition to therapy services, she provides consultation and training that focuses on Black Mental Health, Trauma Informed and Restorative practices, and Racial Equity to school districts, private entities, and organizations.
Ruth Tessema, LPC
Ruth is a Portland local and Ethiopian American descent. As a holistic wellness practitioner, Ruth, cultivates and facilitates experiences for individuals to discover alignment within their physical, mental, and spiritual bodies. Her style of teaching is founded in her experience as a licensed mental health therapist and educator with holistic background in somatic trauma healing. Ruth is also the founder of Rising Self Wellness, a private practice in which she founded to address the disparities and inequities within mental health and holistic wellness for marginalized communities . She provides holistic psychotherapy, facilitates breathwork and vibrational sound therapy, and offers wellness classes and workshops.
