With compassion, we invite you to the annual MOMENTUM FESTIVAL at the UVic Multifaith center on February 1st, 2025 from 2pm-10pm. 🌱
This year’s festival is garden where we can plant seeds, grow roots, and sprout together. Momentum carries the mythic heart of the participatory festival—where community gathers, stories are shed and we glimpse renewal into life's embeded cycles.
During the day, we'll initate the festival by planting seeds:
-Story-telling in the Meta-Crisis
-Community art & live instrumentals (mask-making, wreath weaving)
-Vocal resonance (vocal exploration, call and response singing)
-Authentic relating (compasionate communication and listening)
As evening comes, the festival begins! We'll drum to our hearts beat. The rhythm carries us into revelry, laughter, shenanigans, and play. The seed splits open into the dreamworld of life: estatic dance, shenanigans and play. The night will close into stillness with a sound-bath.

What to expect? A large soundsystem, warmhearted people, bread! laughing! crying! humans! clowns! seeds! To flip inside out into a primordial, cosmic and animated world of regenerative spirals!

Ticketing: This is a free of cost and substance-free event for all diversities of humans!! Tickets are limited to 50 participants. To maintain the cohesiveness of the group, plan to come for the whole festival! (2pm-10pm).
Arriving: To reach the Multifaith centre, head towards Parking Lot 6 outside Ring Road. The Multifaith Centre is right in front of the Finnerty gardens! Come as you are, you may want to bring:

Bring a water bottle, cusion, a bowl and a spoon if you have them. Earplugs will be encouraged during the sound-bath at the end of the night. We'll have extras. We ask that phones be limited in use throughout the day - please leave them in your bag, jacket or shoe.

“It was the year 2016: Henri Lock, chaplain of the University of Victoria’s Multifaith Chapel, heard the ripples of EDM festival season off campus. He grew curious about the festival spirit; it was clear that these events were fertile ground for self-expression, exploration and connection. A seed of inspiration was planted in Henri, and he began to gather friends, students, allies to sow the life of the festival in his own garden at the sacred Multifaith center. Thus, Momentum was created.”
