As the closing event of our Mois de la Francophonie, we invite you to a panel discussion on Tunisia!This event will bring together speakers with diverse experiences to explore key themes shaping Tunisia today, including history, language, democracy, and agriculture. The discussion will be moderated by Mary Curtin, who worked at the U.S. Embassy in Tunisia from 1998 to 2002 and will also share her insights on U.S.–Tunisia relations.
The panelists include Idriss Belhaj Abdallah, Ph.D. student in French Language and Literature at the University of Minnesota, who will address questions of colonization, independence, and perceptions of the French language in Tunisia; Rima Kawas, CEO and Founder of The Connectors Group and adjunct faculty at the Hubert H. Humphrey School of Public Affairs, who will speak about democracy in Tunisia; and Walid Sadok, professor of Agronomy at the University of Minnesota, who will discuss food, agriculture, and the challenges facing Tunisia’s agricultural sector.
