About this Event
Mohsen Namjoo is an Iranian singer-songwriter, composer, and musician born in 1976 in Torbat-e Jam, Iran. He is known for his unique musical style that blends traditional Persian music and poetry with Western genres such as rock, blues, and jazz. Often called the “Bob Dylan of Iran,” Namjoo combines classical Persian literature with modern sounds and experimental vocals, creating a distinctive and influential voice in contemporary world music.
He began studying Persian classical music at a young age and later studied theater and music at the University of Tehran. After facing political and legal pressures in Iran, he left the country in the late 2000s and has since lived and worked internationally, performing and teaching while building a global audience.
