About this Event
Join us at the Moffett Field Museum on April 18th for a compelling Speaker Series presentation exploring the China-Burma-India (CBI) Theater of World War II—often called the “Forgotten War.”
While Allied strategy prioritized the defeat of Nazi Germany, the CBI Theater operated with limited resources and manpower, yet played a vital role in the broader fight against Imperial Japan. It was here, at a crossroads of cultures and conflict, that Chinese Americans made extraordinary contributions—serving as soldiers, flying perilous missions over the Himalayas, maintaining critical aircraft and airfields, staffing medical units, and strengthening coordination between American and Chinese forces.
Speakers from the Chinese Historical and Cultural Project of San José will share these powerful and often overlooked stories, highlighting the courage, resilience, and cultural significance of Chinese American service members in WWII. Their experiences are not footnotes—they are an essential part of America’s military and cultural history.
