EcoForesters' annual Modern Forestry Revisited event discusses the challenges facing Appalachian forests, and the tremendous work being done to combat them. Hear from keynote speaker Ethan Tapper about his experiences helping Appalachian forests heal, and learn how these lessons tie into our region's recovery from local forestry experts.
Ethan Tapper is an internationally-recognized forester, bestselling author, and digital storyteller from Vermont. His first book, How to Love a Forest: The Bittersweet Work of Tending a Changing World, was published in September, 2024, and has since received international acclaim, including winning the 2025 New England Book Award for non-fiction.
