Dr. Ryan H. Hashem is a Board-Certified Psychiatrist and Medical Director at Synergy Mental Health and Wellness in Rockwall, Texas. He earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from Ross University School of Medicine and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Texas at Dallas. He completed his psychiatry residency at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York.

Dr. Hashem specializes in outpatient, addiction, and emergency psychiatry, with extensive experience treating adults with serious mental illness, co-occurring substance use disorders, and complex medical needs. His clinical work emphasizes collaborative, evidence-based, and systems-focused care, incorporating pharmacotherapy, long-acting injectables, interventional treatments, and integrated care models. He has played a key role in developing and implementing hospital-wide initiatives, including the SAFE-T suicide risk assessment and Integrated Outpatient Services, aimed at improving patient safety, continuity of care, and clinical outcomes.

Motivated by a lifelong fascination with the human mind and a commitment to serving vulnerable populations, Dr. Hashem is passionate about strengthening clinical systems that support both patients and providers. He finds particular fulfillment in interdisciplinary collaboration and translating psychiatric research into practical, high-impact clinical applications.

Outside of his clinical and leadership roles, Dr. Hashem remains actively engaged in psychiatric research, humanitarian work, and cultural exploration—pursuits that inform his teaching, enrich his clinical perspective, and enhance his ability to connect with diverse professional audiences.
