Muscle Energy Techniques (MET) are a manual therapy approach that involves the active engagement of muscles to improve joint mobility and relieve pain. This technique uses the principle of reciprocal inhibition: when a muscle is contracted, its opposing muscle will relax. MET can be used to address areas of muscle weakness, tension, or imbalance, and can treat a range of musculoskeletal conditions, including low back pain, neck pain, shoulder pain, and joint stiffness.
