About this Event
The Student Support and Experience Team are holding a Mock Exam for undergraduate students in HCA. The session is open to all students from years 1–4.
The session will provide students with the opportunity to practice a past paper under something similar to exam conditions. You might not finish a whole paper during the mock exam, but we hope it will be a helpful way to self-test and practice writing an answer under timed conditions. Please note that your answers will not be marked.
The mock exam will be run by Megan Jarman and Nia Clark (Student Advisors in the Student Support and Experience Team), and a Student Advisor will be present throughout the exam. If you need to leave the room at any point, or if you are feeling worried or concerned, the Student Support and Experience Team office will be open, and we’ll be on hand to help.
The mock exam is taking place on Wednesday 26th April from 1.45pm–4pm in room G.07, Meadows Lecture Theatre, William Robertson Wing. It will be followed by a chance to debrief over tea and coffee, from 4–5pm.
What you need to bring:
The exam will start at 2pm. Please arrive at 1.45pm and be ready to start at 2pm.
BYOP(P) – bring your own past paper and materials to write/type your answers. You can find example past papers for your courses online: Exam Papers (ed.ac.uk). Please note that not all exams will have past papers available online, but the course ograniser will be able to provide a specimen paper for you to use. These can usually be found in Learn, but you should contact the course organiser ahead of the mock exam if you are unable to find a paper.
Come prepared to sit your chosen past paper under exam conditions. The exam will be taking place in a lecture hall so bear this in mind. You will be able to leave to go to the bathroom at any time.
You may wish to bring a bottle of water. There is a water fountain located in the hallway near the lecture theatre.
