This shifting landscape sets the stage for The Manila Times Automotive Forum 2026, where regulators, industry leaders, and mobility experts will discuss how alternative powertrains are reshaping the Philippine automotive market.Themed “Mobility at a crossroads: Navigating the Philippines' oil dependence and electric future,” it will be held at the Heritage Ballroom of the Heritage Hotel in Pasay City on May 21 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. with registration at 12 noon.
Attendees will hear from keynote speaker Senator Sherwin Gatchalian, principal author and sponsor of the Electric Vehicle Industry Development Act (EVIDA), together with an esteemed panel of industry leaders including Edmund Araga, president of the Asian Federation of Electric Vehicle Association (AFEVA); Anthony Aucone, CEO of Hydrogen Power Beyond; Carla Buencamino, head for Mobility Infrastructure of AC Mobility; Rose Marie Mendoza, acting director for Manufacturing Industries Service of the Board of Investments (BOI); Dao Quy Phi, managing director of Green SM Southeast Asia and president/chairman of Green GSM; Willy Tee Ten, president and CEO of the Autohub Group and president of the Electric Vehicle Association of the Philippines (EVAP); and Antonio “Toti” Zara III, CEO of VinFast Southeast Asia.
The event will be moderated by TMT columnist Ben Kritz, hosted by TMT editor for Science & Technology, Supplements & Special Projects Raymond Gregory “Tribs” Tribdino.
