About this Event
Celebrate the World Wide Day of Play, spearheaded by Nickelodeon and the Association of Children's Museum, at the Prescott Market Food Hall in West Oakland! Habitot's traveling "mini museum" of mobile exhibits plus art, STEM, and maker activities are going on the road! Our exhibits are designed for children ages 0-5, with plenty of opportunities for siblings and adults to join in on the fun!
Prescott Market Hall offers many food and beverage vendors and is AC Transit accessible with easy freeway access.
Habitot Children’s Museum is a 26-year old nonprofit children's discovery museum serving families throughout East Bay! Our sliding scale admission of $5-$45 with a suggested donation of $20 per family helps ensure access for lower income families.
Each ticket is a SINGLE FAMILY GROUP ticket and will admit any combination of children and adults in the same household. Please register for just ONE time slot (1 hour and 15 minutes) to allow as many families as possible to attend our event.
Please do not attend our event if you or your family members are ill. We encourage wearing masks because COVID-19 is still circulating, although they are not required at this time.
What to Expect!
Fun, interactive activity stations for small hands and bodies!
Rocket Launcher
Launch your handmade rocket 15ft into the sky with a hand-cranked air pressure contraption.
Rocket Building & Tinkering
Design, build, and decorate a rocket from recycled materials. Test how it high it launches in the new rocket launcher. Decide if your make-and-keep needs anything added to it or taken away. A fun design activity!
WaterWorks
Playing with water is a learning opportunity! Explore boats, funnels, buckets, and streams to learn about the properties of water, and just have fun!
Boat Making & Tinkering
Design, build, and decorate a boat from recycled materials. Test how it floats and sails in the water table. Decide if your make-and-keep boat needs anything added to it or taken away. A fun design activity!
Art, STEM, and Making Stations
Create art and engage in maker activities with a wide range of materials that encourage "process" and not "product" learning. STEM experiments also help children learn basic science and math concepts. An art making table for 2's and younger is new for 2023.
Paintable Wall
Imagine an entire mural created by children on our giant paintable wall. Nontoxic washable paint.
Ball Run
Design your very own ball run with endless combinations of tubes, gutters, and more on our giant magnetic wall!
Imagination Playground Blocks
Build a fort, ball ramps, or anything you can imagine with Imagination Playground’s big foam blocks. This is a great activity for making new friends as you build together.
Baby Ball Pitt
Just for the littlest ones — a waterless pool filled with multi-colored plastic balls. Lots of giggles.
Habitot's 2025 Mobile Museum Tour supported in part by a ROOF grant from Red Oak Realty and Chevron Corporation.
