9:00 a.m. doors open with a coffee/water social hour
10:00 the business meeting: election of officers, nut separator project status, finances, home & garden show review, logo update, awards, online information, etc.
At 11:00 is the guest speaker: Will Hastings speaking via Zoom from the University of New Hampshire about northern hardy kiwis. There will be several varieties of kiwi male and female plants available to those in attendance for a donation.
Noon: lunch break
1:00 p.m. we will have a new "nutshell topics" with 4 different topics each getting 5-minutes: 1. introducing this new discuss method, 2. butternut leaf DNA study results, 3. tissue culture adventures at Nash Nursery, 4. fall meeting preview
1:30 fundraising auction: we welcome all bidders and any nut/fruit related materials for the auction
Throughout the day, the scion table will be available for people to browse and pick up grafting materials. We also plan a "free table" if someone has trees/plants that they wish to re-home. Please note that no one should bring chestnut leafy materials from SW Michigan due to the invasive Asian chestnut gall wasp (Dryocosmus kuriphilus Yasumatsu).
