About Guest Preacher The Rev. Dr. John Thatamanil 

The Rev. Dr. John Thatamanil is a professor of theology at Union Theological Seminary in New York City and an Episcopal Priest. He is the author of The Immanent Divine: God, Creation, and the Human Predicament. An East-West Conversation, and Circling the Elephant: A Comparative Theology of Religious Diversity (Fordham University Press, 2020). He is priest-associate at St. Mark’s Church-in-the-Bowery in the East Village. You can learn more about him here. 


About Award-Winning Music Director Jeannine Otis 

Jeannine Otis is a composer, singer, and music director living in New York City. She is the Music Director of St. Mark’s Church-in-the-Bowery in the East Village, a community known for its progressive commitment to justice through the Arts. She has been a featured Jazz vocalist worldwide, and appeared on Broadway in This Joint is Jumpin’. Anthony Tomassini of the New York Times labeled Jeannine a “show-stopper” in a review of a Downtown Music Production’s version of The Cradle Will Rock. Her music compositions have been released world wide, and adapted to theater works such as “Who Am I” at La Mama in 2014. You can learn more about Jeannine’s work and legacy here.
