Mixed Media & Appliqué - Flowers in a Vase
Theresa will guide you through a range of techniques to create this vibrant artwork. Learn how to create a painted background on calico using acrylic paints. Use a range of stencils to create additional decorative effects. Upholstery fabric scraps will be used to the create the vase and a variety of different flowers and foliage. These will be free-motion stitched to the background. Each piece of art will work will be completely individual.
Some knowledge of free-motion stitch will be required to participate in this workshop. Students are asked to bring their own machines which will require a machine where the feed dogs can be dropped. An embroidery or darning foot and bobbins suitable for your own machine will also be and required.
All other materials, tools and an apron will be provided.
Refreshments will be provided but please bring your own lunch (approx. 30min)
