At this performance, you will hear the music of Lent. Our Music Ministry will sing the music of Dan Forrest, George Frideric Handel, Jan Dismas Zelenka, Arvo Pärt, and other composers whose works give voice to prayer, lament, and hope. Our evening will be filled with candlelight and ancient Patristic readings, inviting stillness and reflection as we prepare our hearts and minds for Holy Week.Through sacred music spanning centuries, this program traces a spiritual journey—from prophecy and longing, through sorrow and contemplation, toward peace and renewal. Moments of choral grandeur will stand alongside intimate meditations, allowing listeners not only to hear the story of Lent, but to enter into it. Surrounded by sound, silence, and the wisdom of the early Church, the concert offers a space apart from the noise of daily life: an opportunity to listen deeply, reflect prayerfully, and encounter the beauty at the heart of the Lenten season.
