About the Workshop:
Learn the building blocks of a strong handstand
Overcome common fears and gain confidence
Practice drills to improve your strength, balance, and body awareness
Walk away with a clear roadmap for future handstand training
Mobility & Strength Drills 2 - Build upon exercises learned in part 1
Wall Handstand Technique 2 - Build upon techniques learned in part 1, including kicking technique against a wall for support.
Balance Progressions - Introduce progressions like hollow body holds, wall walks, and partner-assisted handstands to gradually build balance and confidence.
Yoga Practice Integration - Learn handstand flows to incorporate into your regular yoga practice so experience and confidence is gained in a class environment.
About the Instructor Matthew Bonas:
Matthew Bonas, Yoga Instructor - E-RY T-500
Over the last 15 years Matthew has been immersed in the fitness and wellness community. He has been a student and teacher of yoga, a personal trainer, and a group fitness instructor. Matthew has facilitated yoga, fitness and nutrition workshops as well as local and international yoga retreats. His dedication to yoga and fitness has driven to seek out the best teachers, receive top notch training, and to continually upgrade his skills and knowledge.
He completed his yoga training in the birthplace of yoga – Rishikesh, India – earning a RYT-500 certification over four months of intensive study. He also studied under Bernie Clark, one of the world's foremost authorities in yin yoga, completing a 50-hour yin yoga intensive teacher-training course. Matthew has over 12 years of experience teaching several different types of yoga including hatha, vinyasa flow, power, yin, acro yoga, and skills such as hand balancing and handstands. He is also a certified Anti-Gravity yoga instructor. His passion, patience, calm demeanor and strong practice has helped Matthew teach different levels from beginner to advanced in different environments such as gyms, yoga studios, and corporate offices.
Price: $50.00 plus HST - non members must pay drop in guest fee plus workshop fee.
