About this Event
These weekday walks are happening regularly and are mostly based in and around the Peak District. Join us for a scenic walk to Minninglow Hill, one of the most striking viewpoints in the White Peak. Rising above the surrounding farmland, Minninglow offers wide reaching views and a powerful sense of history.
At the summit we will visit the Neolithic chambered tomb, built over 5,000 years ago and once used as a communal burial site. It is a fascinating reminder that these hills have been important gathering places for people for thousands of years.
This walk combines gentle Peak District landscapes, big skies, and a chance to connect with the deep human history of the area, all at a relaxed, sociable pace.
Come join a group of like-minded women to learn about the fascinating history and geology of this stunning area of the Peak District National Park.

Ascent: 400ft/120m
Level:Easy/Moderate/Challenging: mostly easy footpaths and trails with some gradual uphill sections. There are stiles on this route
Time: 2-2.5 hours
Who will be your guide?
I’m Emily, founder of Peak Outdoor Community, and I’m a Mountain Leader based in Glossop at the edge of the Dark Peak. I’ve always been outdoorsy since being a young girl but hiking became a real obsession in 2019 when I started to go solo. I aim to inspire other women to learn the many benefits of exploring in the outdoors and I’m passionate about sharing my love for adventure with you!

Safety:
The whole point of our walks is that they are enjoyable and memorable experiences for everyone so we will keep to a slow and steady pace. It's about taking in the views, learning about the history and geology of the area and being in nature, not about rushing to the finish line. Having said that, you are responsible for your own health and safety and with all outdoor activities, there can be risks involved. If you are unsure as to whether you are fit to come on this walk, please either consult your doctor or let us know your concerns. Please inform us of any medical conditions prior to the walk. Every participant MUST complete a Medical & Disclaimer form a minimum of 24 hours before the event begins. This will be sent via email so please look out for it.
Our leaders are qualified Hill and Moorland and Mountain Leaders and level 3 Outdoor First Aid trained so they will be on hand in case of an emergency.
Dogs:
Dogs are more than welcome to come along but please ensure they remain on leads at all times.
Refund Policy*:
Refunds will only be given if the event is cancelled (see below). If you can no longer attend you are more than welcome to sell your ticket to someone else but please let us know if you do so. No swaps to other events.
And FINALLY:
This walk will be going ahead whatever the weather, unless I deem the conditions dangerous so be ready to embrace the good old British weather! If I do have to cancel the walk for safety reasons, I will suggest one more date for the walk to be rearranged or you can redeem your ticket on one other walk on a date suitable to you.
