The Philadelphia Family Support Projects at Vision for Equality and the Family Impact Initiative at the Philadelphia Department of Health invite you to a Caregivers’ Retreat.
If you are a caregiver to someone with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities, including autism, we invite you to join us for a mini-retreat. This is your time to connect with other caregivers and learn about simple, yet effective ways to recompress while connecting with other caregivers. Lunch and snacks will be served.
Activities include:
- Gratitude wall
- Reflexology
- Chair Yoga
- Meditation
- Journaling
- Dope Botanicals- Learn how to reduce tension with herbs/herbal tea ( Thank you to Philadelphia Department of Public Health for providing this opportunity.)
- Group Discussion, and more.
Childcare is not provided, but you are welcome to have your family join you for this event.

Resource Fair: 10 AM – 12 PM
- Come meet local organizations supporting families like yours and get the resources you need to support yourself and your loved ones.
Retreat: 12:00 – 4:30 PM

Important Parking Information: Please note that the entrance to The Discovery Center is not visible from the parking lot. The paved walkway up to the entrance is ADA accessible, as are all of our buildings and restrooms. The trail is wide and grass covered, with a section of mulch at the beginning of the trail and a somewhat steep entrance. The trail is flat otherwise, but there may be tree roots and other natural items on the path. The water walk has a lip of 1 to 2 inches from the ground to the dock ramp and one step. For the safety of your pets, only service animals are allowed at The Discovery Center. The parking lot is gravel, with two van accessible parking spots.
The Philadelphia Family Support Projects are funded by City of Philadelphia Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual disAbility Services (DBHIDS). Family Impact Initiative is funded by the Pennsylvania Department of Health and implemented through the Philadelphia Department of Public Health.
