Inspired by historic photographs of houses in Redruth, join us on Saturday 13 June, 10am-12pm or 1-3pm, and create your own mini town using matchboxes.
Imagine what it might have looked like when William Murdoch first lit his home using gas lighting, and bring that moment to life by making a mini Murdoch house, complete with rooms inside. You can also build a whole street of houses — each matchbox opening to reveal its own tiny scene.
Take your creations home to play with, or turn them into a thoughtful gift by adding a message inside the matchbox.
This is a free, drop‑in activity suitable for all ages, taking place as part of Redruth’s Murdoch Day celebrations.
