August 10-13 | 12:00-3:00pmThis engaging art class introduces students to foundational drawing, painting, and mixed media skills through guided projects inspired by well-known artists and artistic styles. Students will explore creativity while learning important visual art techniques in a structured, supportive classroom environment.
Throughout the week, students will practice key art concepts including color mixing, texture, line, shape, composition, and beginner painting techniques. Lessons are inspired by artists such as Vincent van Gogh, Claude Monet, Alma Thomas, and Faith Ringgold, helping students learn how artists use color, movement, pattern, and storytelling in their work.
Each session includes instructor-led demonstrations followed by step-by-step art projects where students apply specific drawing, painting, and mixed media techniques. Projects are designed to build skills progressively while encouraging creativity and confidence.
Students will complete a variety of structured art pieces throughout the week, including individual studies and larger projects developed over multiple class sessions.
