About this Event
Mini Makes, Major Skills - Sweater Edition
Hosted by Manchester Wool & Yarn
Join us for a hands-on, knitting workshop over 3 weeks designed to build your skills and confidence while creating a beautiful baby-sized sweater from start to finish to then go on and make your adult sized version!
Workshop Dates (Saturdays):
- May 30th 4:30pm - 7:30pm
- June 6th 4:30pm - 7:00pm
- June 13th 4:30pm - 7:00pm
Over the course of these three sessions, you’ll learn essential garment-making techniques, including shaping, construction, and finishing. By the end, you’ll have completed a baby sweater and gained the knowledge needed to tackle larger projects.
Why a baby sweater?
This workshop is designed to let you try before you commit. You’ll only need a single 100g ball of yarn to complete the baby garment, giving you the chance to:
- Experiment with yarns you’re considering for a full-sized sweater
- See how they knit up, feel, and wear
- Build skills without the cost or commitment of a larger project
Featured Pattern:
For this workshop, we’ll be working with the hugely popular Anker Sweater by PetiteKnit. Loved by knitters around the world, this timeless design is the perfect introduction to garment-making, featuring clean lines and classic details that translate beautifully from baby to adult sizes.
What’s included:
- Expert guidance throughout all three sessions
- A baby sweater pattern to complete during the workshop
- The adult-size version of the same pattern, provided at the end of the course
Exclusive discounts:
- 10% off materials before the workshop (in-store or online) so you can choose your perfect yarn and needles
- A second exclusive discount at the end of the course to purchase yarn for your adult-sized sweater
This workshop is perfect for knitters who are ready to move into garment-making or want to refine their skills in a supportive, creative environment.
