Minety Music Festival 2026 would be delighted to announce this, but we're not going to... we're going to let The Swindon Shuffle do it!!! ...see below...The Shuffle, Swindon’s biggest showcase of local musical talent, hits a milestone this year as it runs for the 20th time. It’s hard to believe that a literal back of a fag packet crazy idea, conceived by some intrepid music promoters over a few pints in the Victoria in 2006 would still be around twenty years later, but here we are.
Over the last nineteen years the multi-venue event, based on established city centre music festivals like the Camden Crawl, The Great Escape and the Oxford Punt, has offered a platform for hundreds of local, original bands and artists, offered invaluable support to the town’s music venues and raised tens of thousands of pounds for local charities.
The festivals’ formula, that allows audiences to “shuffle” between venues to catch the acts they want to see hasn’t really changed, although organisers, charities and venues have been an ever-evolving cast. Acts like Stornoway, Gabby Young & Other Animals, The Dead Lay Waiting, Beatbullyz and Gaz Brookfield have played the event and subsequently gone on to more national recognition.
But how to celebrate turning twenty? As well as making this year’s event the biggest, and best there has been, we thought why not hijack stages at some other amazing local events? We’ve done it before, at Sugarhill Festival, so why not do it again?
Therefore, we are very pleased to be teaming up with the legends at Minety festival to steal one of their stages for the day! We promise to look after it and treat it as if it were our own!
The Swindon Shuffle stage at Minety Festival takes place on Sunday 5th July and will feature the musical talents of The Tamers, Chasing Dolls, Modern Evils, Truck, Concrete Prairie, Joe Kelly & The Royal Pharmacy, B-Sydes, George Wilding and Tamsin Quin.
