About this Event
Join our Minecraft Big Biome Builds to unleash your imagination- explore build, craft and conquer challenges with fellow gamers of all ages. Whether you're a seasoned player or a curious beginner, this event is the perfect blend of fun and learning. Have fun, make friends and enjoy a shared love for Minecraft.
Our sessions run on laptops or desktops with either an Xbox game controller or mouse and we encourage all children to use these as this builds e-confidence and computer skills. We work with Minecraft Education to allow us to provide secure private worlds as well as additional educational features.
Sessions will take place on the mezzanine level which is open plan and open to the public, as such all children will be asked remain in this area and to wear a coloured wristband to identify that they are attending the session. If a child is unable to do this, then a parent or carer will be required to remain with them to supervise (space permitting). If parents wish to stay with children then we can accomodate if space permits- you do not need to book a place for this, but it is helpful if you could contact the provider on the address below, to let the know you would like to do this.
If sessions are full, we advise joining our waiting list, as places will often be released closer to the session date. We anticipate a high demand for these sessions, so if you find you can no longer attend, please log into Eventbrite and request a cancellation or contact us. This will allow us to offer your place to another child.
We aim to take regular screen breaks throughout the sessions where we may take outdoor breaks weather permitting. Please ensure your child has appropriate clothing and a coat. Lunch and bottled water will be provided.
It is preferable for children attending these events to be a member of the Library service in advance of the sessions in order to use the IT facilities, though this is not essential. Applications can be completed in person at any local library prior to the session and a limited number of applications may be processed on the day. Check details and application requirements here- https://www.sthelens.gov.uk/article/1931/How-to-join-the-library If your child is already a member of the library service, please bring along their membership card & pin number on the day.
