About this Event
Although this is a free event; LACMA is NOT free. Since we'll be in a group we should be able to get the group discount ($21 per person).Please ONLY RSVP if you intend on paying the $21 admission (note: $19 w/ a student ID or a Metro Pass).
We will meet at the LACMA, and i'll guide us through a mindfulness exercise around Richard Serra's Band sculpture. This is a vast sculpture at 12 feet high and more than 70 feet long. We will do a slow silent walking meditation around the sculpture, then do some reflective journaling followed by group sharing. This is about engaging with art in a way that expands our mindfulness practice.
Afterwards, as a group we will explore LACMA's BCAM wing; which is the building within the LACMA that is dedicated to contemporary art. It houses large-scale works, installations, and rotating exhibits. You are of course welcomed to stay at LACMA afterwards as well. The museum is open until 6pm.
