About this Event
Mindfulness can be defined as learning to bring our attention to the present moment and simply seeing what arises without bias or judgment. The benefit is that we become more synchronized in body and mind, and begin to relate to our world in a less distracted and more wakeful way.
This 6 session course will deepen your understanding of these simple and effective techniques to help you stay calm, present, and less reactive in your daily life. Each week will open with a discussion and introduction to a specific meditation technique, followed by 20 minutes of seated meditation, and we will end each session by learning a new mini-practice to help you incorporate present moment awareness into your daily life throughout the week.
Participants have the option to join individual sessions or enroll in the complete course.
Those who complete the full 6-session series will finish with a set of tools to support a daily meditation practice, as well as a community of fellow meditators (sangha) to travel the path alongside you.
This class will meet on Tuesday evenings from 7:00 - 8:00pm on the following dates:
- November 12 (Week 1 - The Basics of Mindfulness Meditation)
- November 19 (Week 2 - Clarity, Strength, and Stability of Mind)
