About this Event
Mindfulness can be defined as learning to bring our attention to the present moment and simply seeing what arises without bias or judgment. The benefit is that we become more synchronized in body and mind, and begin to relate to our world in a less distracted and more wakeful way.
This 6 session course will introduce you to this simple and healthy tool to help you stay calm, present, and less reactive in your daily life. We will learn about the origins of the practice and cover a variety of mindfulness meditation techniques. Each week will open with a discussion and introduction to a specific meditation technique, followed by 20 minutes of seated meditation, and we will end each session by learning a new mini-practice to help you incorporate present moment awareness into your daily life throughout the week.
At the end of this course you will have all the tools you need to continue your own daily meditation practice, and a community of fellow meditators (sangha) to travel the path alongside you.
This class will meet on Tuesday evenings from 7:00 - 8:00pm on the following dates:
- November 12
- November 19
- November 26
- December 3
- December 10
- December 17
Led by Dharma Moon certified Mindfulness Meditation Teacher, Rachel Marks. Cushions will be provided, but feel free to bring your own seat if you have one.
