Explore ways of deepening your connection with nature on this experiential visit to Holland Park’s wildlife area.
About this Event

Join Max Martin, the Ecology Centre’s Nature and Wellbeing Coordinator as he takes you into the wildlife area in Holland Park to explore the ways that an appreciation of nature and an awareness of the self can help to bring harmony into your life.

Mindfulness in Nature is the practice of paying attention while you are outside, using techniques from modern mindfulness to wilderness guiding to forest therapy. There will be a short introduction to the benefits of these practices and then he will some of his favourite techniques for connecting with the wonder of nature. Expect some slow walking, short meditations and activities exploring the senses in this beautiful natural space.

There is an online talk in June in which he will discuss more of the research and thoughts behind the practices.

“I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.”

― Henry David Thoreau, “Walden”
