Hey runners!
Join us for a 5km community run focused on creating more body awareness and helping you improve your technique. We will do a mix between running and exercises so this is also suitable for runners that can not yet run 5km in one go.Starting at the beautiful Anima House with mobility exercises. On our route we will focus on improving your body awareness whilst running through exercises and breath work that we do along the way.
Practicalities:
- When: Saturday 06th of July
- Start time: meet from 10:15AM, run starts at 10:30AM
- Start and finish: Anima House

Mission of Anima House
Mission of Anima House is to provide an inclusive, enriching, judgment free space for our community to flourish, grow, challenge and further discover themselves not only physically, but mentally to provide a whole circle well-being experience. We believe the bridge of fitness, mindfulness, and mental wellness is more than a trend, but a lifestyle. We do: monthly collaborations with amazing facilitators, ambassadors, organizations, and businesses from around the city to further grow and foster our community.
About Mirjam
Mirjam has been running for over 20 years and has used running as a tool to discover herself to deep levels. Running has been a constant in her life through many changes, and she has used it as an anchor in her life, constantly learning about the mind-body connection and exploring the themes of trust and change. She runs a blog called Myrunspiration, where she discusses these topics and engages with her community.Her goal: She just ran a 24h trail race. Her dream is to run a 100 mile Ultramarathon one day.She has run many marathons and ultramarathons in her career to date. Running to Mirjam is so much more than just a physical activity. She believes it has a profound impact on her mental health and well-being, gives her self-confidence, and helps her to find a sense of clarity and mindfulness. In short, it really is her happy place. She is passionate about sharing this with others, through her community work and social media, and hopes to help others find their happy place!
About Gabby:
Gabby is our spirited train ambassador driven to make movement inclusive & accessible for every body. Before moving to Amsterdam in 2019, she was a Montessori school teacher that focused on being an advocate for neurodivergent & underprivileged children.
Upon her relocation she fully emerged herself in the fitness industry founding wellness & fitness studio, Anima House, and community initiative, Beneath the Surface, focusing on mental well-being of the neurodivergent LGBTQIA+ community.
On regular basis, she instructs a variety of formats ranging from strength training to HIIT, barre, vinyasa yoga & pre- postnatal classes centered around making movement & fitness fun, challenging, and available to all.
