This session at The Salisbury Centre is a safe space for refugees.
About this Event
This session includes gentle movement, mindfulness, sensory exploration and relaxation.
We begin with gentle follow along exercises aiming to improve posture, alignment and mobility. Various options (using a yoga mat or seated) are offered so that participants can adapt exercises to best suit their bodies.
We then move on to mindful body awareness and sensory exploration. These tasks begin individually, allowing participants to find their own way of moving, before exploring collective awareness through playful interaction. We will explore imagery, breath, and responding to music.
The session concludes with time to reflect through writing, drawing and discussion, before finding stillness in relaxation.
The session will be led by Jorja Follina, professional Dancer and Fitness Instructor.
Open to adults of all ages and experiences, this session has been created as a safe space for refugees.
The workshop will run 12-1:45pm in the Art Room at the Salisbury Centre.
Three free tickets are available for those who need them, and the remaining tickets are by donation. Donations can also be made with cash or card on the day.
Feel free to email [email protected] if you have any questions in advance.
