About this Event
At Mindful Kids we will explore nature, get creative cooking and crafting, play music and dance, do mindfulness exercises and more in a peaceful, safe environment. The programme has been crafted with care to give your kids the best experience and will be facilitated by a NZ qualified primary school teacher.
The programme will run for three Fridays over the course of three weeks as per details below.
Times: Drop off time: 8.30am - 9am; Pick up time: 3pm - 3.30pm
Dates: Friday 16th January, Friday 23rd January, Friday 30th January
Location: Bhakti Lounge - 1/175 Vivian Street, Te Aro Wellington
What to bring: A drink bottle, sun protection, weather-appropriate clothing, regular Medic*tion, and walking shoes.
Age range: 7 - 10 year olds
General daily schedule: Each day will run according to the following structure incorporating the daily theme as per below.
8.30 - 9am - Drop off time
9am - Mindful Moment: Roll, 5 mins of breathwork, 5 mins of yoga, story, circle time
9.30am - Activity
10.30am - Morning tea time
11am - Activity
12.30pm - Lunch time
1.30pm - Mindful Moment: Roll, 5 mins of breathwork, 5 mins of yoga, story
1.45pm - Activity
2.30pm - Afternoon tea and pack up time
3 - 3.30pm - Pick up time

Programme Facilitator: Our facilitator has a wealth of experience creating rich, engaging activities for tamariki in Aotearoa. As well as being a qualified primary school teacher for six years, she also has a degree majoring in Psycholgy and Spanish, experience running a yoga and wellbeing student club at Victoria University and experience being a school Sports Coordinator. Additionally, she has taught in schools in Spain, been the Positive Behaviour for Learning Team Leader and has initiated mindfulness sessions for teachers at various schools. She was the second in charge coordinator for a holiday programme in Nelson and is now excited to combine all of her skills and experience to give your kids the best experience possible at Mindful Kids.
