HOKU is a mindful dating experience designed for people who want to connect more genuinely — beyond apps, performance, and superficial small talk.
Through playful guided experiences, conversation, music, movement, and shared presence, we create a relaxed and intentional space to meet new people more openly and honestly.
Inspired by mindfulness, conscious relating, embodiment, and tea ceremony culture, these evenings are about slowing down, putting our phones away, and remembering what human connection can feel like when we are truly present.
Maybe you meet someone and feel a spark that grows into something deeper. Maybe you make new friends, share meaningful conversations, or simply spend an evening feeling more connected and alive. And honestly, that in itself is already something valuable.
This is not a sex party, and it’s not speed dating. The focus is on authentic connection, openness, curiosity, and creating a safe and non-judgmental atmosphere where people can simply be themselves.
The evening is approximately 3 hours long and guided throughout, with tea and light snacks served during the event. After the guided portion ends, there is space to stay, mingle, talk, dance, and continue connecting naturally.
All genders and orientations are welcome. Current events maintain a relative gender balance for heterosexual participants. Special editions for poly/open relationship structures are also offered (see event 31/7).
No alcohol, drugs or judgmental attitudes permitted. Anyone visibly intoxicated, openly prejudice or repeatedly crossing the stated boundaries of others will be be asked to leave without refund.
This event will be facilitated in English. If you are comfortable following along in English but prefer to speak Dutch, that is welcome. See our event on 6 Sept for our Nederlands editie.
There are 12 free parking spaces but the events often host more people. If you live within walking or cycling distance, we ask you to consider leaving parking spaces for those coming from afar.
