About this Event
Renowned documentary and fine art photographer Mimi Mollica presents the launch of his latest book Moon City, co-published with Dewi Lewis Publishing. This exhibition marks the release of this major new body of work, accompanied by a series of prints on display for a limited time.
“A collision between natural forces and the architecture of mindless acquisition.” Iain Sinclair
About the book
Moon City charts the silent dialogue and inherent tension between two forces at play, the ancient pull of the Moon and the restless ambition of London’s financial skyline. Over five years, Mollica photographed the lunar surface and the City’s glass and steel towers, overlaying images of people walking the streets, captured through telescope and mobile phone. The result is a poetic, urgent meditation on how we have become both victims and promoters of a system that encages us.
Moon City is a powerful and evocative project, a body of work with a strong narrative voice, shaped over five years of deep reflection and observation.
About the exhibition
Visitors to theprintspace will experience the series as large-scale photographic prints, presented alongside the publication release. The exhibition offers a rare opportunity to encounter Mollica’s work in person and to collect signed copies of Moon City.
The show opens with a one-night private view on Friday 29th November from 7 pm to 10 pm, and remains on display for just under three weeks before closing ahead of the next exhibition in mid-December.
