About this Event

Mill Road Poetry – Spring Season 2026

Mill Road Poetry are delighted to announce our upcoming programme of Poetry Nights for Spring 2026! Join us for three more poetry evenings led by Mill Road Poetry, in partnership with Hot Numbers Gwydir Street:

Thursday 26 March

Thursday 30 April

Thursday 28 May

Poetry brings together the many voices of our city, and enables us to explore ourselves and the world around us within a supportive space and welcoming community. Furious, joyful, light-hearted or loud - all poetry is welcome and we'd love you to share your work with us.

The format for our poetry evenings is a programme of readings by local poets and writers, curated by poet, Jon Morley. Our Poetry Nights at Hot Numbers are all about the atmosphere: spoken word poetry in a fabulous neighbourhood café, for a small, respectful audience, that is relevant, poignant and powerful. Come and experience something special!

Tickets will be available to purchase one month before each event and can only be purchased for one event at a time.

Entry is £7. Doors open at 6.30pm. Poetry starts at 7.00pm and runs until around 9.30pm. Refreshments will be available for purchase throughout the evening.

To ensure that each poet receives equal support, we also ask that you stay for the whole evening.

We know that our Poetry Night tickets sell very quickly - but don’t despair if you find that this event has already sold out: do get in touch at the email address below, as we may be able to offer you a cancelled ticket on the door. To help us to do this, if you have a ticket and find that you can’t attend, please cancel via Eventbrite so that others can take your place - even if it is the day of the event itself. Many thanks!

You can make sure that you have advanced warning about future events via the Mill Road Poetry mailing list: please contact Emily Patterson at [email protected] to find out more and to add your name and email address to the mailing list, so that you can hear about future poetry events in Cambridge!

Please also contact Emily if you would like to get involved in the organising side of things and/or to share some of your work at future poetry events.
