Mike Hext -Valve Trombone and Flugelbone - Mike came to prominence winning the first ever BBC TV Young Musician Of The Year Competition in 1978. As a jazz artist he began his career with The National Youth Jazz Orchestra and has since worked with many of the top jazz artists in the UK. As a studio and session musician he has played on over three hundred film soundtracks including The Mission, Gladiator, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Bridget Jones, The Fifth Element, Shrek and The Golden Compass and has played in may productions at The Royal Opera House!.
