Celebrate the final night of Migration Matters Festival 2026 with an electric night of music, community and good times. This Sheffield festival is the biggest Refugee Week event of its kind in the UK, taking place over nine days in the city from June 19-27. The final live music headline act for the closing party will be announced soon, but you can already expect: Mim Suleiman
Mim Suleiman has been described as the Mama Africa of the modern era. A boundary-crossing performer who defies categorisation, she reaches deep into her East African heritage to blend traditional Taarab vibes with dub, jazz, soul and funk.A gifted composer and songwriter in both English and Swahili, she sings in a variety of languages and her versatile and charismatic presence have led to collaborations with some of the biggest names in Africa and the diaspora.

DiaspoRIDDIM returns to Migration Matters Festival 2026 after last year's massively successful debut, where guest DJs Lyla (Pakistan), Chook Ly (Cambodia/Vietnam/France), and the Beirut Groove Collective (Lebanon) alongside local talent Kom Kom(British-Khmer), Palanca Negra (Angola/Portugal) and DisOrientalist (Pakistan), brought us the most dancefloor shaking borderless mixes.This is club culture at its most boundary-breaking: a night where artists whose identities have been shaped by migration bring together traditional sounds and future seeking electronica. A journey through the global rhythms that define diaspora communities: Kuduro's raw energy from the African diaspora in Portugal, North African flavors driving French hip-hop and bass music, and South Asian underground that rewired UK clubs in the '90s, influencing everything from D&B to Grime, genres which themselves grew out of Caribbean sounds crossing oceans and evolving into something entirely new.Proof that music never stops reinventing itself through cultural exchange.
One World Choir - Forged in Sheffield!
One World Choir is Sheffield’s very own refugee choir. Most of their singers are refugees and people seeking asylum from many different countries, including from current conflict zones: Iran, Ukraine, Sudan and Congo. One World Choir’s performances are always spirited and moving. Their songs, including original compositions by choir members, reflect cultural diversity, while calling on us all to celebrate our common humanity and solidarity. When the choir sings in different languages, they will explain the meaning of the songs.Prepare to express your solidarity by singing and dancing along.
