About this Event
Sarker Shams Bin Sharif is a climate migration specialist with firsthand experience of climate change in Bangladesh, a country deeply affected by environmental shifts. As a communicator and activist, he has worked in various countries including Bangladesh, Nepal, the USA, Sweden, and the UK, providing him with diverse insights into how climate migration is perceived and how it can be improved.
In the current climate, where the far right is gaining traction by advocating for stricter border controls and promoting hateful rhetoric against migrants, Shams raises an important question: Can facilitating easier migration serve as an effective climate mitigation strategy which aligns with out humanitarian principles? And if so how can we ensure effective communication surrounding this issue.
