About this Event
Midwinter Folkwalk:
A short circular walk around Sandwich celebrating the seasonal folklore, customs and traditions of Midwinter.
Led by writer, walking artist and psychogeographer .
What to expect:
- A warming welcome drink and a seasonal treat en route.
- A circular walk beginning and ending at an accessible location, with public car park nearby.
- Easy town-centre terrain, involving some narrow lanes.
- An introduction to the folklore and customs of Midwinter.
- Seasonal readings, song and lighthearted interventions.
- A seasonal folk tract to walk with and take home.
Tickets are limited and must be booked in advance. Details of location and logistics will be sent to ticket holders in advance of the walk.
This is a walk outside, subject to the elements. Please dress appropriately for the weather with sensible footwear.
Suitable for ages 16+.
NB: The walk will go ahead unless weather is so severe as to be unsafe. Tickets are non-refundable unless the event is cancelled by the host.
Ticket price includes a donation to the work of The Sandwich Medieval Trust.
