Join us at Scratchboard Kitchen for a spring evening celebrating the sparkling wines of Mawby Vineyards, one of the pioneers of traditional-method sparkling wine in the Midwest.
Founded in 1973 on Michigan’s Leelanau Peninsula, Mawby has helped define a uniquely American style of sparkling wine shaped by the cool influence of Lake Michigan. These wines are vibrant, elegant, and remarkably food-friendly.
For this special event, our kitchen will present a four-course seasonal tasting menu inspired by the Midwestern landscape. Each dish reflects our chef’s philosophy of cooking with ingredients at their peak, pairing comforting regional flavors with bright spring contrasts and thoughtful technique.
Each course will be paired with a Mawby wine presented by Michael Laing from Mawby Vineyards:
• Cultured butter dipped spring radish with NV “Us” Brut
• Spring pea salad with Grace Rosé
• Ramp Pierogi with Blanc de Blanc
• Rhubarb glazed spring lamb with Taslimøn
Together, the menu and wines show just how versatile sparkling wine can be, carrying a meal from the first bright, refreshing sip through deeper, savory flavors.
The tasting is designed to conclude on a warm, savory note and does not include a dessert course. Guests are welcome to enjoy selections from our dessert menu afterward if they wish to extend the evening.
