About this Event

Restoration: Living Shorelines

Learn restoration techniques while understanding the far-reaching impact of healthy oyster populations on our coastal environments.

  • Attaching oyster shells to bamboo stakes to help create new reef structure in the marsh
  • Engage in salt marsh restoration by planting Spartina and learning how these habitats protect coastlines and support wildlife
  • Discover the importance of shellfish management while exploring the diverse organisms that live within oyster reef communities

Students leave with a deeper understanding of coastal restoration and the vital role living shorelines play in maintaining healthy ecosystems.
