Led by Larissa PicardMiddle Street didn’t exist until 1858, and was built narrow because the town didn’t have the funds to make it wider. And, it once ran straight to the outer edges of the railroad depot, through where the Hannaford parking lot sits today. A fascinating array of properties—residential, business, lodging, service, non-profit—have been in this general vicinity. And so have a train derailment, the WPA, a church fire, Studebakers… and a lot more.
Participants meet at the corner of Middle and Pleasant (i.e. in front of Curtis Memorial Library).
